About the Job
The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to support and coordinate key HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, training and development, performance management, and compensation and benefits administration. This position serves as a strategic partner to leadership while helping foster a positive workplace culture that reflects the agency’s commitment to respect, integrity, professionalism, accountability, and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist in administering employee compensation and benefits programs, including open enrollment, FSA/HSA plans, and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate and support employee training, professional development, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Assist with policy development and updates to support effective HR practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Support organizational development, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and best practices while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality HR services. 
  • This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and build effective working relationships across the organization.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) and 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience in employee relations. 
  • HR certifications such as PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP are preferred.
